Short Hills Dining: Enzzo’s Trattoria
January 18th, 2009 Categories: Millburn & Short Hills Living, NJ Dining Out
It’s not often that restaurants in Short Hills, New Jersey get reviewed by The New York Times.
And receive a GOOD Rating.
But our very own Enzzo’s Trattoria did just that!
We have been going to Enzzo’s since it first opened fifteen years ago. I will admit tho’…the fact the owner’s name is Perri Urso is cool…can’t say I meet many other Perri’s spelled the same way.Â
The food is delicious and the restaurant is family friendly…always a plus.
Check out the review.

Millburn NJ Kitchen Trends
January 15th, 2009 Categories: Millburn & Short Hills Living
I can always count on finding the most up-to-date trends in kitchen designs at Kitchen Expressions in Millburn, NJ.
The owner, Steven Nephtali told me:
“For the last year or so, the trend in kitchens has leaned further towards a clean, contemporary and/or transitional look.
The vast array of cabinetry materials and finishes that are available today sharply distinguishes the present “contemporary” from the contemporary look of yesteryear. Finishes alone can include exotic, horizontally or vertically grained veneers such a zebra wood, macassar ebony, rift cut oak and Anigré, as well as high gloss lacquers and paints.
Another area that is red hot is countertops… There is a wide variety of new and different materials being used for kitchen counters - from the visually dazzling 2 inch thick ThinkGlass countertop to gleaming stainless steel to Concrete to Richlite - a paper-based countertop material - the possibilities are nearly limitless.
It is important that the selected materials are utilized properly and used appropriately.”The Kitchen Expressions Team in Millburn carefully listens to their client’s needs. They utilize their skills and products to create the perfect kitchen or bath for individual lifestyles. Existing spaces are transformed and are treasured by their clients for a lifetime.
Give Steven a call at 973.912.4440 or stop by the showroom for a visit at 325 Millburn Avenue, Millburn NJÂ www.kitchenexpressions.com.

New Eyes for the Needy in Short Hills
November 12th, 2008 Categories: Just Because..., Millburn & Short Hills Living
New Eyes for the Needy in Short Hills, New Jersey celebrates its 75th Anniversary this year. It is a wonderful non profit organization that purchases new prescription glasses for poor children and adults in the US and recycles donated glasses for distribution for people in need throughout the world.
ABC highlighted New Eyes for the Needy this past weekend with questions answered by Susan Dyckman, the executive director and Clelia Biamonti, the president of the Board of Trustees.
New Eyes for the Needy has provided nearly a half-million people with the glasses they so desperately need in the US as well as 56 Countries including Argentina, Cambodia, Ghanna, Morocco, Nigeria and Uganda.
Funding comes primarily through individual donations, foundation grants, corporate sponsorships and special events. They also have a jewelry and gift-ware re-sale showroom at their facility in Short Hills. Fabulous Finds is open Thursday afternoons and certain Saturdays during the school year and is completely volunteer run. The showroom contains estate and costume jewelry, watches, silver, crystal, china and gift-ware - all available at bargain prices because the merchandise is all donated to New Eyes for re-sale.
You can help New Eyes for the Needy by making a cash donation, donating your used eyeglasses, hearing aids, jewelry and gift-ware. A gift of just $60 will buy the glasses that can turn someone’s life around.
Donors can give right on New Eyes website, www.neweyesfortheneedy.org.

New York Jets Give Back in Short Hills
October 28th, 2008 Categories: Buying a Home in NJ, Florham Park Living, Millburn & Short Hills Living
Last night I was “hanging” with The New York Jets at a Fashion Show sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue, MasterCard and The New York Jets at the Short Hills Mall.
The proceeds went entirely toward the New York Jets Foundation whose main focus is to provide resources for local area youth initiatives that encourage education, sports and physical fitness, the creation of scholarships and donations to schools, colleges, universities, hospitals and other exempt charitable organizations.
Now that the team and the Jets organization live and practice in the area they have become a wonderful addition to the communities along the Midtown Direct Train line including Florham Park, Livingston, Short Hills, Millburn, Summit, Chatham, Madison and Morristown to name a few.
Say hi to Nick Mangold and D’Brickashaw Ferguson. Don’t they look great in their Made-to Measure suits?

OCTOBER 26, 2008

Â
When Millburn High School was named the Top High School by NJ Magazine last month you could feel the sigh of relief ripple through Short Hills and Millburn.
Everyone has been focused on the economy, more specifically home values. The accolades received from the #1 designation reinforced the strength of the school district. With only two months of inventory (vs. the New Jersey average of twelve months)Millburn Township homeowners are breathing easier. Â
The New York City real estate market is finally feeling the pinch. Home buyers are venturing across the Bridge and through the Tunnels to communities with an easy commute into Manhattan. Short Hills and Millburn have express trains via the Midtown Direct Train into Hoboken and Penn Station in 35 minutes.

August Hartshorn Home Sales in Short Hills
October 11th, 2008 Categories: Buying a Home in NJ, Millburn & Short Hills Living, Recent New Jersey Home Sales
It has been so wonderful watching the growth of our Keller Williams office over the past three years. Red KW signs are easily spotted in communities along and adjacent to the Midtown Direct train lineÂ
Representing both Buyers and Sellers, Keller Williams home sales are closing…not easy in this economy.
Just look at this one section of Short Hills. Out of the eighteen homes sold in the Hartshorn Grade School area in August 2008, Keller Williams represented ten transactions. Pretty good for an office that is only three years old.
