2010 Top NJ Schools Along Midtown Direct

Once again, Millburn High School is ranked #1 in New Jersey Monthly’s Bi-Annual Survey of High Schools in the State.
Other towns along and adjacent to the Midtown Direct Train line into New York City and Manhattan were also in the top tier:

Millburn High School has maintained their #1 rank…not surprising given the statistics and the fact that 29 graduates of the Class of 2010 are starting at Ivy League Schools this semester: Brown-1; Columbia-3; Cornell-8; Dartmouth-1; Harvard-4; Princeton-4; University of Pennsylvania-7; Yale-1.
Having lived in Short Hills my whole life, a graduate of Millburn High School myself (back in the day!) and with two children recently graduated MHS (both are at Vanderbilt) I could not be more thrilled.

- Exceptionally rated school district every year.
- High property values with carefully planned neighborhoods & beautiful, tree lined streets
- Excellent shopping and luxury facilities both right in town and just 2 miles away at one of the nation’s most prestigious experiences, The Mall at Short Hills and The Spa at Short Hills Hilton
- Many nearby parks and nature sites with lots of recreational opportunities
- Miles of Wildlife Reservation to walk or bike through and appreciate the preservation of our natural resources
Chatham, New Jersey includes both Chatham Borough and Chatham Township. They share the same school district, post office (07928)and library, but are really two separate municipalities.
Chatham Township is about four times larger in size yet only with about 20% more people. The Borough includes downtown, the Midtown Direct Train line into NYC and closer access to Route 24, while the Township has easier access to Route 78 with larger sized house lots.

NJ Tennis Clubs Along the Midtown Direct Train Line

Tennis Anyone?
There are some wonderful places to play tennis in New Jersey along the Midtown Direct Train line from South Orange to Morristown and in the adjacent communites as well.
In fact, South Orange has its own version of Wimbledon at Orange Lawn with grass courts, mandatory white tennis attire and a new clubhouse equipped for elaborate catering for parties of all sizes.
CenterCourt Athletic Club of Chatham is currently under construction as it prepares for the upcoming paddle season, open indoor court time, and a full service health facility.

In February 2008, Chatham, NJ was named the best place to live by New Jersey Monthly and the 2008 Graduating Class from Chatham High School is sending four to the Ivys including Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth and Harvard.

Chatham Borough is closer to downtown Chatham shopping and the Midtown Direct Train to NYC. Chatham Township is further from downtown with larger homes and corresponding prices.Â

The Parrot Mill Inn located in CHATHAM, N.J. plays host to the “Mommy Nest,” a retreat for new moms in New Jersey.The NY Times wrote an article on the Mommy Nest yesterday. I wish this was available seventeen years ago!!!What a wonderful idea to help new mothers adjust to breast-feeding, sleep deprivation and the joys of motherhood. At $500 a night, moms can get help from lactation consultants and the rest and relaxation they crave.
