Sprinkled throughout Essex and Morris Counties are several lesser-known parks made available specifically for dog enthusiasts.
Although some require residents to purchase permits at the start of each new year, the canine play spaces allow a leash free environment for owner and pet alike to mingle, socialize, and most of all PLAY!

Essex County Off-Leash Dog Facility
At Watsessing Park, Locust Avenue, Bloomfield Access to Locust Avenue from Prospect Street.
Essex County Brookdale Park Dog Park
Essex County Brookdale Park, Bloomfield/Montclair Access from Bellevue Avenue in Bloomfield or Grove Street in Montclair Parking is available inside Essex County Brookdale.
East Hills Park –Livingston Dog Park
Located in Livingston, NJ, on the east side of Shrewsbury Drive, between Route 10 (East Mount Pleasant Avenue) and Northfield Road. Permit Required (See website for details)
Maplewood Memorial Park
Oakview Ave. and Valley Street
South Mountain Dog Park
Essex County South Mountain Reservation, Crest Drive, Maplewood/Millburn. Entrance to Crest Drive is off of South Orange Avenue in South Orange
Mill’s Reservation
Normal Ave., Montclair
