Commuting To NYC From South Orange

Commuting via Midtown Direct to Manhattan or Hoboken from South Orange, New Jersey?Â
If you don’t live within a short enough distance to the South Orange Train Station on Sloan Street (depending on your desire, the size of your heels and your pre-coffee stamina) you can always hop onto the three different Jitney’s that scoot around South Orange in the morning and afternoon.
Within minutes you can be on the Midtown Direct Train into New York City (Penn Station) or into Hoboken (to catch the PATH or Ferry).Â

Permits may be purchased in person at the Parking Authority offices in Village Hall, second floor, between 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday. Certain permits and renewals may be handled by mail, if the application is accompanied by photocopies of the necessary documents and a check or money order.
Parking Permits are also available through the South Orange Parking Authority and NJ Transit…There is currently a waiting list for both.

At 4pm Friday, June 27, 2008, the Springfield Avenue Bridge is OPENING!!!

Millburn Sidewalk Sale June 18-21

Millburn High School 2008 Graduates Go Ivy

Every time I am asked “What is so great about living in Millburn and Short Hills New Jersey?”
I can always point to the wonderful education provided to our children.
Not only was Millburn High School awarded a national Blue Ribbon award this year, but twenty-nine of the 331 graduating seniors in 2008 are scheduled to go to Ivy League schools next year.

Millburn Farmers Market Opens Today

Don’t miss the opening of the Millburn Farmers Market Tuesday, June 17, 2008.
The market will run every Tuesday through October 28th from 8am-2pm at the corner of Essex and Main Streets.
Today’s festivities include:
10 am Ribbon Cutting by Secretary of Agriculture, Charles Kuperus, Senator Tom Kean, Jr. and local dignitaries
11 am restaurant.mc will have a cooking demonstration & tasting. Two tickets to the PaperMill Playhouse production of Little Shop of Horrors will be raffled off.

Summit Farmers Market Opens Today

I just got back from the Summit Farmers Market with bags in hand.
Summit Farmers Market opened this morning, Sunday, June 15 in the Park & Shop Lot #2 on the corner of Maple Street and DeForest Avenue.
The market will be open every Sunday from 8AM to 1:30 PM until November 23rd (rain or shine). Some of my old favorites were back and some new surprises. There are a few purveyors that will start in the weeks to come.
